2010 Games Review
1 Star Games
Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero. A nice idea, having 999 lives to complete the game but the bad physics made the game beyond frustrating
3 Star Games
Donkey Kong Country Returns. I was so excited for this as a huge fan of the original trilogy, but the difficulty was way too high for me.
Pokemon Rumble
Wii Sports Resort
MySims Agent. When the MySims games really began to have diminishing returns.
Another Code R
The Simpsons Game
Tomb Raider Underworld
Crystal Defenders. Way too difficult tower defence where the difference of a pixel can mean victory or defeat.
Halo 3
Dragon Quest Monster Joker 2
Super Meat Boy. Way too hard for me.
Bit Trip Fate
Bit Trip Runner
4 Star Games
Chrono Trigger. I never got into this game in a way that seemed to match the hype around it. Maybe it’s the fact that I played a remake of the game on DS
Scribblenauts. What seems like an idea of endless possibility eventually ends up as using a few key words over and over
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. Not the Banjo Kazooie game we wanted but not too bad either.
Fable III
Tomb Raider Legend
Feeding Frenzy
Lego Batman
Banjo Tooie. This game is a bit too ambitious with its sprawling interconnected levels and so is a bit confusing to navigate and figure out how to solve some of the puzzles.
Final Fantasy XIII. The point at which I began to lose interest in Final Fantasy. The story in this game had too many proper pronouns that sound similar (Fal’Cie, L’Cie) and the new battle system was difficult to get to grips with. The linearity of it all, except towards the end didn’t really help either.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A Darklord
Tales of Monkey Island
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. A weak sequel to one of the best early Final Fantasy games.
Bit Trip Void
5 Star Games
Dragon Age Origins.
New Super Mario Bros Wii
Wario Land: Shake Dimension
Peggle Nights
Professor Layton and Pandoras Box
Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime
Mario and Luigi: Bowsers Inside Story
Portal Still Alive. More like DLC then a main game, and less humour, but still very enjoyable.
Breath of Death VII. Excellent short comedy retro RPG
Chthulu Saves The World. Another excellent comedy RPG
Triple Town
Hotel Dusk: The Secret of Cape West
Top 10 Games of 2010
Limbo
Super Mario Galaxy 2
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. A Zelda game with trains. Brilliant.
Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigates. A bit different to the other Ace Attorney games but an equally compelling story.
New Super Mario Bros
Batman Arkham Asylum. The first of many excellent Batman games
Pokémon Soul Silver. An up-to-date remake of one of my favourite Pokémon games.
The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. I barely remember the actual plot of this game as I got so caught up in my own roleplaying narrative that I created for my character. My favourite moment when, as a member of the thieves’ guild, I had to steal from the leader of the magic guild. The leader of the magic guild was …. also me. So, I just took something from my own bedroom and finished a task.
Mass Effect 2. A step up in every way from the first game. I failed my first attempt at the suicide mission by making some silly choices,
Plants Vs Zombies. Got this from Dermot as a present for Christmas, when he played it, he knew I would love it. He was so right
